four donkey boats
Gus, Dirk, Mehitabel and Moonbeam having completed their tasks decided to have a play in lovely Duwamish Bay in their sturdy leaf boats. When they saw the Donkeys Union about to take off several riders decided to come along. They have all floated upstream to The Island of the Great White Owl to have an important meeting with the Secretary who has been neglecting her duties (So they say). The Boss sends word that she is to remember she takes her orders from him and not from that Owl, no matter how beautiful . The Secretary (who is feeling very hard-done-by.)

Dear Lois: The Boss Donkey is my boss so my lips are sealed. The Boss Great White Owl is my good friend but he has numerous obsteperous family and his lady prefers to sit with her little ones. Adolescents are all the same and need steady work to keep them steady. The Secretary
